Beginning not later than October 1, 2018, and on a quarterly basis thereafter through October 1, 2024, the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment shall provide to the congressional defense committees a briefing on the progress of the F–35 Joint Strike Fighter program. Each briefing under subsection
(a)shall include, with respect to the F–35 Joint Strike Fighter program, the following elements: An overview of the program schedule. A description of each contract awarded under the program, including a description of the type of contract and the status of the contract. An assessment of the status of the program with respect to— modernization; modification; testing; delivery; sustainment; and program management.
