Notwithstanding the land use planning requirement of sections 202 and 203 of the Federal Land Policy and Management Act of 1976 ( 43 U.S.C. 1712 , 1713), on request by the applicable local governmental entity, the Secretary shall convey without consideration the following parcels of public land to be used for public purposes: The approximately 640 acres of land comprising the Emery City Recreation Area. The approximately 1,400 acres of land comprising the Huntington Airport. The approximately 640 acres of land comprising the State Road 6 Emery County Sheriff’s Office substation site.
The approximately 65 acres of land comprising the Buckhorn Information Center. As soon as practicable after the date of enactment of this Act, the Secretary shall file a map and legal description of each parcel of land to be conveyed under subsection
(a)with— the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources of the Senate; and the Committee on Natural Resources of the House of Representatives. Each map and legal description filed under paragraph
(1)shall have the same force and effect as if included in this Act, except that the Secretary may correct minor errors in the map or legal description. Each map and legal description filed under paragraph
(1)shall be on file and available for public inspection in the Price Field Office of the Bureau of Land Management. If a parcel of land conveyed under subsection
(a)is used for a purpose other than the purpose described in that subsection, the parcel of land shall, at the discretion of the Secretary, revert to the United States. In the case of a reversion under paragraph (1), if the Secretary determines that the parcel of land is contaminated with hazardous waste, the local governmental entity to which the parcel of land was conveyed under subsection
(a)shall be responsible for remediation.
