Section 231(b) of the Second Chance Act of 2007 ( 34 U.S.C. 60541(b) ) is amended— in paragraph (1)— by striking (including and inserting prior to release from a term of imprisonment in a Federal prison or if the individual was not sentenced to a term of imprisonment in a Federal prison, prior to release from a sentence to a term in community confinement, including ; and by striking or a birth certificate) prior to release and inserting and a birth certificate ; and by adding at the end the following:
In this subsection, the term community confinement means residence in a community treatment center, halfway house, restitution center, mental health facility, alcohol or drug rehabilitation center, or other community facility . Section 4042(a) of title 18 of the United States Code, is amended— by redesignating paragraph
(D)as paragraph (6); and in paragraph
(6)(as so redesignated)— in clause (i)— by striking Social Security Cards, ; and by striking and at the end; by redesignating clause
(ii)as clause (iii); by inserting after clause
(i)the following: obtain identification, including a social security card, driver's license or other official photo identification, and a birth certificate; ; and in clause
(iii)(as so redesignated), by inserting after prior to release the following: from a sentence to a term of imprisonment in a Federal prison or if the individual was not sentenced to a term of imprisonment in a Federal prison, prior to release from a sentence to a term of community confinement .
