Section 240(b)(5) of the Immigration and Nationality Act ( 8 U.S.C. 1229a(b)(5) ) is amended by inserting at the end the following: Subparagraphs
(A)through
(E)shall apply to any alien placed in proceedings under this section who— is outside of the United States; has received notice of proceedings under section 240(a) (either within or outside of the United States); and is described in section 212(a)(2)(G) (officials who have committed particularly severe violations of religious freedom), 212(a)(3)(E) (Nazi persecution, genocide, extrajudicial killing, or torture), or 212(a)(3)(G) (recruitment or use of child soldiers). .
