Section 210(b)(6) of the Immigration and Nationality Act ( 8 U.S.C. 1160(b)(6) ) is amended— by striking Attorney General each place that term appears and inserting Secretary ; in subparagraph (A), in the matter preceding clause (i), by striking Justice and inserting Homeland Security ; by redesignating subparagraphs
(C)and
(D)as subparagraphs
(D)and (E), respectively; inserting after subparagraph
(B)the following: The Secretary may provide, in the Secretary’s discretion, for the furnishing of information furnished under this section in the same manner and circumstances as census information may be disclosed under section 8 of title 13, United States Code. . The Secretary may provide, in the Secretary’s discretion, for the furnishing, use, publication, or release of information furnished under this section in any investigation, case, or matter, or for any purpose, relating to terrorism, national intelligence or the national security. The Secretary may use the information furnished under this section to adjudicate subsequent applications, petitions, or requests for immigration benefits filed by the alien The Secretary may use the information furnished under this section for any purpose when the alien consents to its disclosure or use by the Secretary. The Secretary may use the information furnished under this section for other purposes and in other circumstances in which disclosure of the information is not related to removal of the alien from the United States. ; and in subparagraph (D), as redesignated, striking Service and inserting Department of Homeland Security .
