Not later than 270 days after the date of enactment of this Act, the Administrator, in coordination with the Commissioner of Customs and Border Protection, shall— assess the operational and security impact of using biometric technology to identify passengers; facilitate, if appropriate, the deployment of such biometric technology at checkpoints, screening lanes, bag drop and boarding areas, and other areas where such deployment would enhance security and facilitate passenger movement; and submit to the appropriate committees of Congress a report on the assessment under paragraph
(1)and deployment under paragraph (2).
