Section 2101(41) of title 46, United States Code, is amended— by inserting
(A)Subject to subparagraph (B), before the text; and by adding at the end the following: Such term includes an individual who is on board an oceanographic research vessel only to— engage in scientific research; instruct in oceanography or limnology; or receive instruction in oceanography or limnology. For purposes of clause (i), the age of an individual may not be considered in determining whether the individual is described in such clause. .
