Section 508(a) of the Public Health Service Act ( 42 U.S.C. 290bb–1(a) ) is amended by inserting , (including local or regional organizations that are private and nonprofit, including faith-based organizations), after public and nonprofit private entities . Section 514B(a)(1) of the Public Health Service Act ( 42 U.S.C. 290bb–10(a)(1) ) is amended by inserting (which may include local or regional organizations that are private and nonprofit and that may be faith-based) after units of local government, nonprofit organizations . Section 545 of the Public Health Service Act ( 42 U.S.C. 290ee ) is amended by— redesignating subsections
(f)through
(h)as
(g)through (i), respectively; and inserting after subsection
(e)the following: A State may, in using a grant under this section, use all or a portion of that grant to contract with, or make one or more subawards to, one or more— local or regional organizations that are private and nonprofit, and that may be faith-based; units of local government; or tribal organizations. . Section 546(a) of the Public Health Service Act ( 42 U.S.C. 290ee–1(a) ) is amended by inserting local or regional organizations that are private and nonprofit and that may be faith-based, after grants to States, local governmental entities, . Section 548(b) of the Public Health Service Act ( 42 U.S.C. 290ee–3(b) ) is amended by adding at the end the following: A State, or combination of States, may, in using a grant under this section, use all or a portion of that grant to contract with, or make one or more subawards to, one or more— local or regional organizations that are private and nonprofit, and that may be faith-based; units of local government; or tribal organizations. .
