Section 1673 of the Food, Agriculture, Conservation, and Trade Act of 1990 ( 7 U.S.C. 5926 ) is amended by adding at the end the following new subsection: The Secretary shall establish an Algae Protein Center of Excellence to accelerate development of a United States-based algae (including microalgae and macroalgae) industry that will serve as a hub for innovation and collaboration, among leading United States algae companies, international food corporations, and university research experts. The Center shall be comprised of one center for each of the following major protein markets: Food. Animal feed. Aquaculture feed. .
