Section 4004 of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 ( 29 U.S.C. 1304 ) is amended— in subsection (b)— in paragraph (1), by striking a liaison and inserting an independent liaison ; and in paragraph (3), by striking assist and inserting advocate for ; by redesignating subsections
(c)through
(e)as subsections
(d)through (f), respectively; and by inserting after subsection
(b)the following: The corporation shall, upon request, provide information to the Participant and Plan Sponsor Advocate to the extent necessary to enable the Participant and Plan Sponsor Advocate to perform the responsibilities described under this section. .
