Section 602 ( 20 U.S.C. 1122 ) is amended— in subsection (a)(4)(F), by inserting (C), after (B), ; and in subsection (e)— by redesignating paragraphs
(1)and
(2)as subparagraphs
(A)and (B), respectively, and realigning such subparagraphs so as to be indented 4 ems from the left margin; by striking
(e)and inserting the following: Application .—Each institution Each institution ; and by adding at the end the following new paragraph: The Secretary may approve an application for a grant if an institution, in its application, provides adequate assurances that it will comply with paragraph (1)(A). The Secretary shall use the requirement of paragraph (1)(A) as part of the application evaluation, review, and approval process when determining grant recipients for initial funding and continuation awards. . Part A of title VI ( 20 U.S.C. 1121 et seq.) is amended— by striking section 604; by striking section 606; by striking section 609; and by striking section 610. Part A of title VI ( 20 U.S.C. 1121 et seq.) is further amended by redesignating sections 605, 607, and 608 as sections 604, 605, and 606, respectively.
