Section 441 ( 20 U.S.C. 1087–51 ) is amended— in subsection (a)— by striking part-time and inserting paid ; by striking , graduate, or professional ; and by striking community service and inserting work-based learning ; in subsection (b), by striking part, such sums as may be necessary for fiscal year 2009 and each of the five succeeding fiscal years. and inserting part, $1,722,858,000 for fiscal year 2019 and each of the 5 succeeding fiscal years. ; and by amending subsection

(c)to read as follows: For purposes of this part, the term work-based learning means paid interactions with industry or community professionals in real workplace settings that foster in-depth, first-hand engagement with the tasks required of a given career field, that are aligned to a student’s field of study. .
