Section 8 of the Sovereignty, Integrity, Democracy, and Economic Stability of Ukraine Act of 2014 ( 22 U.S.C. 8907 ) is amended— by redesignating subsection
(d)as subsection (e); and by inserting after subsection
(c)the following: Subject to section 216 of the Russia Sanctions Review Act of 2017, the President may terminate the application of sanctions under subsection
(b)with respect to a person if the President submits to the appropriate congressional committees a notice that— the person is not engaging in the activity that was the basis for the sanctions or has taken significant verifiable steps toward stopping the activity; and the President has received reliable assurances that the person will not knowingly engage in activity subject to sanctions under subsection
(a)in the future. . Section 9 of the Sovereignty, Integrity, Democracy, and Economic Stability of Ukraine Act of 2014 ( 22 U.S.C. 8908 ) is amended— by redesignating subsection
(d)as subsection (e); and by inserting after subsection
