Section 5 of the Ukraine Freedom Support Act of 2014 ( 22 U.S.C. 8924 ) is amended— in subsection (a)— by striking may impose and inserting shall impose, unless the President determines that it is not in the national interest of the United States to do so, ; and by striking on or after the date of the enactment of this Act and inserting on or after the date of the enactment of the ; and Countering Russian Influence in Europe and Eurasia Act of 2017 in subsection (b)— by striking may impose and inserting shall impose, unless the President determines that it is not in the national interest of the United States to do so, ; and by striking on or after the date that is 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act and inserting on or after the date that is 30 days after the date of the enactment of the .
