Chapter I of the National Flood Insurance Act of 1968 ( 42 U.S.C. 4011 et seq.), as amended by section 414, is amended by adding at the end the following: Not later than 180 days after the date of enactment of this section, the Administrator, in consultation with relevant Federal agencies, shall promulgate regulations requiring the disclosure of information relating to the flood risk and flood insurance coverage of any property that is offered for lease in accordance with subsection (b). The regulations promulgated under subsection
(a)shall require that, before the lessee is obligated under any contract to lease property, the lessor shall provide a written disclosure to the lessee that describes— the flood zone classification of the property; whether the property is covered by flood insurance; and the availability of contents coverage under the national flood insurance program. .
