Section 2134(a)(2) ( 20 U.S.C. 6634(a)(2) ) is amended by striking subparagraph
(A)and inserting the following: ensure that the individuals— are able to use challenging State academic content standards and student academic achievement standards under section 1111(b)(1), and State assessments, to improve instructional practices and improve student academic achievement; and who serve children in the early grades of elementary school and younger children, are able to use State early learning guidelines and the full range of domains (cognitive, physical, social, emotional, and approaches to learning); .
