Paragraph (2)(I) of section 1450(m) of title 10, United States Code, is amended by striking fiscal year 2017 and inserting each of fiscal years 2017 and 2018 . Paragraph
(6)of such section is amended— by striking September 30, 2017 and inserting September 30, 2018 ; and by striking October 1, 2017 both places it appears and inserting October 1, 2018 . Not later than 90 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Defense shall submit to the congressional defense committees a report on the dependency and indemnity compensation offset under sections 1450(c) of title 10, United States Code. The report shall include the following: The total number of individuals affected by such offset. Of the number of individuals covered under paragraph (1), the number who are covered by section 1448(d) of title 10, United States Code, listed by the rank of the deceased member and the current age of the individual. Of the number of individuals under paragraph (1), the number who are not covered by section 1448(d) of title 10, United States Code, listed by the rank of the deceased member and the current age of the individual. The average amount of money that is affected by such offset, including the average amounts with respect to— individuals described in paragraph (2); and individuals described in paragraph (3). The number of recipients for the special survivor indemnity allowance under section 1450(m) of title 10, United States Code.
