Sec. 401. Reports on embassy construction and security upgrade projects

Not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary shall submit a comprehensive report to the appropriate congressional committees regarding all embassy construction projects and major embassy security upgrade projects completed during the 10-year period ending on the date of the enactment of this Act, including, for each such project— the initial cost estimate; the amount actually expended on the project; any additional time required to complete the project beyond the initial timeline; and any cost overruns incurred by the project.
Not later than 180 days after the submission of the report required under subsection (a), and semi-annually thereafter, the Secretary shall submit a comprehensive report to the appropriate congressional committees on the status of all ongoing and recently completed embassy construction projects and major embassy security upgrade projects, including, for each project— the initial cost estimate; the amount expended on the project to date; the projected timeline for completing the project; and any cost overruns incurred by the project.
