It is the policy of the United States— to reaffirm its unwavering commitment and support for allies and partners in the Asia-Pacific region, including longstanding United States policy regarding Article V of the United States-Philippines Mutual Defense Treaty; to reaffirm that Article V of the United States-Japan Mutual Defense Treaty applies to the Japanese-administered Senkaku Islands; and to station and regularly deploy the newest and most advanced United States air power assets to the Asia-Pacific region, including F–22 stealth fighters, B–2 and B–52 strategic bombers, and the expected forward-stationing of F–35 aircraft in Iwakuni, Japan.
