It is the policy of the United States that, as a longstanding Asia-Pacific power, the United States will maintain and exercise routine freedom of operations in the international waters and airspace in the Asia-Pacific maritime domains, which are critical to the prosperity, stability, and security of the Asia-Pacific region.
