The Secretary may accept and expend funds provided by non-Federal interests to undertake reviews, inspections, monitoring, and other Federal activities related to non-Federal interests carrying out the study, design, or construction of water resources development projects under section 203 or 204 of the Water Resources Development Act of 1986 ( 33 U.S.C. 2231 , 2232) or any other Federal law. In determining credit or reimbursement, the Secretary may include the amount of funds provided by a non-Federal interest under this section as a cost of the study, design, or construction.
