The Secretaries shall make available free of charge a certain quantity of America the Beautiful passes, to be determined by the Secretaries, to schools receiving funds under part A of title I of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 ( 20 U.S.C. 6311 et seq. ) in each State for use by the school or by students enrolled in the school and their families. A pass shall be valid for a period of 1 year. On request of a school described in paragraph (1), the Secretaries may renew each pass provided under paragraph
(1)upon expiration. Each pass made available under subsection
(a)shall be accompanied with— educational materials on how to access and use the land covered by the pass; and information on available programming and guided activities. The Federal land management agencies shall coordinate to provide materials or curricula for all elementary schools and secondary schools— to provide to students education on— nearby land covered by the pass; and activities available on that land; to encourage field trips to that land; and to encourage involvement in the Every Kid in a Park Program of the National Park Service.
