At the time an accrediting agency or association is required to notify the Secretary of Education and the appropriate State licensing or authorizing agency of the final denial, withdrawal, suspension, or termination of accreditation of an institution pursuant to section 496 of the Higher Education Act of 1965 ( 20 U.S.C. 1099b ), such accrediting agency or association shall notify the Secretary of Homeland Security of such determination and the Secretary of Homeland Security shall immediately terminate the school’s Student and Exchange Visitor Program
(SEVP)certification and prohibit the school from accessing the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS).
