Sec. 302. Reports and evaluation of implementation

Not later than 1 year after the date of enactment of this Act and each of the following 2 years, the Secretary of Agriculture shall submit to Congress a report that— describes the progress of the Secretary in implementing this Act and the amendments made by this Act; includes any requests for additional resources or clarification or modification of policy; and suggests any necessary technical or conforming amendments. Not later than 5 years after the date of enactment of this Act, the Comptroller General of the United States shall— carry out a comprehensive evaluation of the implementation and effectiveness of the implementation of this Act and the amendments made by this Act, including— management of agency resources; the ability of industry to comply; and the public health and food safety outcomes achieved; and submit to Congress a report describing the results of the evaluation.
