Section 70501 of title 51, United States Code, is amended— by amending subsection
(a)to read as follows: In order to ensure continuous United States leadership in exploration of space and as an essential instrument of national security, it is the policy of the United States— to maintain an uninterrupted capability for human space flight and operations— in low-Earth orbit; and beyond low-Earth orbit once the capabilities described in section 421 of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Transition Authorization Act of 2016 become available; and to maintain an uninterrupted capability for human space flight. ; and in subsection (b), by striking Committee on Science and Technology of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation of the Senate and inserting Committee on Science, Space, and Technology of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation of the Senate .
