During the one-year period beginning on the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Veterans Affairs may not authorize certified registered nurse anesthetists of the Department of Veterans Affairs to practice without the supervision of a physician or otherwise expand the scope of full practice authority for certified registered nurse anesthetists beyond what is authorized under the applicable regulations, as in effect on the date of enactment of this Act.
