Section 9 of the 21st Century Nanotechnology Research and Development Act ( 15 U.S.C. 7508 ) is amended— by redesignating subsection
(c)as subsection (d); and by inserting after subsection
(b)the following new subsection: The National Science Foundation shall provide for the establishment, on a merit reviewed and competitive basis, of a center for the development of computer aided design tools for nanotechnology applications. There are authorized to be appropriated to the National Science Foundation for carrying out this subsection $10,000,000. .
