(13)of section 504(a) of the Homeland Security Act of 2002 ( 6 U.S.C. 314(a) ) is amended by inserting , periodically updating (but not less often than once every five years), after administering . Section 653 of the Post-Katrina Emergency Management Reform Act of 2006 ( 6 U.S.C. 753 ; title VI of the Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act, 2007; Public Law 109–295 ) is amended— by redesignating subsections
(d)and
(e)as subsections
(e)and (f), respectively; and by inserting after subsection
(c)the following new subsection: The President, acting through the Administrator, shall develop and provide to Federal departments and agencies with coordinating, primary, or supporting responsibilities under the National Response Framework performance metrics to ensure readiness to execute responsibilities under the emergency support functions of such Framework. .
