Not later than 90 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, and every 90 days thereafter, the Secretary of the Air Force shall submit to the Comptroller General of the United States a report on the Global Positioning System III space segment, the Global Positioning System operational control segment, and the Military Global Positioning System user equipment acquisition programs. Each report required by subsection
(a)shall include, with respect to an acquisition program specified in that subsection, the following: A statement of the status of the program with respect to cost, schedule, and performance. A description of any changes to the requirements of the program. A description of any technical risks impacting the cost, schedule, and performance of the program. An assessment of how such risks are to be addressed and the costs associated with such risks. An assessment of the extent to which the segments of the program are synchronized. The Comptroller General shall provide to the congressional defense committees a briefing on a report submitted under subsection (a)— in the case of the first such report, not later than 30 days after receiving that report; and as the Comptroller General considers appropriate thereafter. The requirement under subsection
(a)shall terminate with respect to an acquisition program specified in that subsection on the date on which that program reaches full operational capability.
