Section 1888 of the Social Security Act ( 42 U.S.C. 1395yy ), as amended by section 223(a), is amended by adding at the end the following new subsection: Not later than July 1, 2016, the Secretary, acting through the Administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, shall delineate and enforce the respective care responsibilities of hospice programs and long-term care facilities (as defined by the Secretary for purposes of title XIX) with respect to individuals residing in such facilities who are furnished hospice care. .
