Section 168 of title 23, United States Code, is amended— in subsection (c)(1)— by redesignating subparagraphs
(C)through
(E)as subparagraphs
(E)through (G), respectively; in subparagraph (B), by inserting general travel corridor or before modal choice ; and by inserting after subparagraph
(B)the following: the purpose and the need for the proposed action; preliminary screening of alternatives and elimination of unreasonable alternatives; ; and in subsection (d)— in paragraph (9), by inserting and is incorporated in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (42 U.S.C. 4321 et seq.) and before the period at the end; and section 1502.21 of title 40, Code of Federal Regulations (as in effect on the date of enactment of the MAP–21 Reauthorization Act ) by adding at the end the following: The planning product is sufficient to meet the requirements for a permit or approval under applicable Federal law. .
