Sec. 344. Annual report on community mental health partnership pilot program

Not later than one year after the date of the enactment of this Act and not later than September 30 each year thereafter until the completion of the pilot program described in subsection (b), the Secretary of Veterans Affairs shall submit to the Committee on Veterans’ Affairs of the Senate and the Committee on Veterans’ Affairs of the House of Representatives a report on that pilot program. The pilot program described in this subsection is the pilot program conducted by the Veterans Health Administration to connect medical centers of the Department of Veterans Affairs with community-based mental health care providers and substance abuse treatment providers for the purpose of assisting in the treatment of veterans with mental health disorders, commonly known as the Community Mental Health Partnership Pilot .
Each report submitted under subsection
(a)shall include the following: The number of sites participating in the pilot program. The number of individuals participating in the pilot program at each site. A detailed assessment of the effectiveness of, the participation of veterans in, and the satisfaction of veterans with the pilot program. An analysis of barriers to the effectiveness of, the participation of veterans in, and the satisfaction of veterans with the pilot program. A description of the plans of the Secretary to conduct outreach and provide information to veterans and community mental health providers with respect to the pilot program. A description of any plans to expand the pilot program, including plans that focus on the unique needs of veterans located in rural areas. An explanation of how the care provided under the pilot program is consistent with the minimum clinical mental health guidelines promulgated by the Veterans Health Administration, including clinical guidelines contained in the Uniform Mental Health Services Handbook of such Administration.
