The Secretary of Defense is authorized to deploy assets, personnel, and resources to the Joint Interagency Task Force South, in coordination with SOUTHCOM, to combat the following by supplying sufficient intelligence capabilities: Transnational criminal organizations. Drug trafficking. Bulk shipments of narcotics or currency. Narco-terrorism. Human trafficking. The Iranian presence in the Western Hemisphere.
