Sec. 1058. Improving analytic support to systems acquisition and allocation of acquisition, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance assets

Not later than 120 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Defense shall review and issue or revise guidance to components of the Department of Defense to improve the application of operations research and systems analysis to— the requirements process for acquisition of major defense acquisition programs and major automated information systems; and the allocation of intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance systems to the combatant commands. Not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Defense shall brief— the congressional defense committees on any guidance issued or revised under subsection (a); and the Select Committee on Intelligence of the Senate and the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence of the House of Representatives on any guidance issued or revised under subsection (a)(2) relevant to intelligence.
