Sec. 9008. Department of Agriculture consultation regarding enforcement of certain labor law provisions

Not later than 60 days after the date of enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Agriculture shall consult with the Secretary of Labor regarding the restraining of shipments of agricultural commodities, or the confiscation of such commodities, by the Department of Labor for actual or suspected labor law violations in order to consider— the perishable nature of such commodities; the impact of such restraining or confiscation on the economic viability of farming operations; and the competitiveness of specialty crops through grants awarded to States under section 101 of the Specialty Crops Competitiveness Act of 2004 ( 7 U.S.C. 1621 note).
