Sec. 45.56.730. Criminal enforcement.
(a)A person who intentionally violates this chapter, except AS 45.56.550 or the notice filing requirements of AS 45.56.200 or 45.56.360, is guilty of a class C felony punishable by imprisonment under AS 12.55.125 or by a fine of not more than $100,000, or by both.
(b)A person who intentionally alters, destroys, shreds, mutilates, or conceals a record, document, or other object, or attempts to do so, with the intent to alter or impair the record, document, or object for use in an official proceeding under this chapter, is guilty of a class C felony. A person convicted of violating this subsection is punishable by imprisonment as provided in AS 12.55.125 , by a fine of not more than $500,000, or by both.
(c)The attorney general, with or without a reference from the administrator, may institute criminal proceedings under this chapter.
(d)This chapter does not limit the power of this state to punish a person for conduct that constitutes a crime under other laws of this state.
(e)In this section, “intentionally” has the meaning given in AS 11.81.900 (a).
